An Apple A Day Cocktail

An Apple A Day Cocktail

Do I need to explain the name of this cocktail? Even though I don't need to... I will.

An apple a day = keeps the doctor away.

There, now you know.

An Apple A Day cocktail is another notable Winter Spice Gin cocktail recipe. The warm baking spices of the gin mixed with fruitiness of apple is the perfect pairing. Think... apple pie filling meets alcohol. It can't go wrong!

In the winter time, we don't get enough sun, and we probably aren't getting enough exercise. That's why it's important to eat healthy foods, and drink with friends. Because socializing is supposed to be great for your health. And alcohol is the social lubricant that keeps the conversation flowing and jokes funny.

An Apple A Day

1.5 oz Winter Spice Gin

0.75 oz Maple Syrup

0.5 oz Lemon Juice

1.5 oz apple juice

0.5 oz Apple Brandy*

2 drops Orange Bitters

Add all ingredients into a shaker tin with ice and give'r a shake. Strain into a rocks glass with new ice. Garnish with either an apple slice, a cinnamon stick, or both!

*You can also use regular brandy or cognac, and the cocktail will still be delicious. It depends how much apple umph you want.

This cocktail is best enjoyed beside a fireplace, petting your dog or cat and listening to some music (preferably vinyl) with a slice of pie. Unsurprisingly, also pairs well with cheddar cheese.
